Father, Your Word says that no one comes to Jesus unless You DRAW them.

“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day. John 6:44

That word DRAW is helkó-it means INDUCE, drag. When I think of the word induce I think of labor and how a woman who is pregnant and that child is taking its good sweet time in coming into the world, and the Dr, the mom, and dad has had enough, OR because of other factors, they will INDUCE and say “enough dilly-dallying. It’s time to induce and bring this baby into the world now instead of waiting for it to come on its own.”

This word also says, to draw by inward power, lead, impel.

As you read on in John chapter 6, what Jesus is talking about is a subject that is offending and causing disbelief. He goes on to repeat what He already shared, but this times uses the word ENABLE.

“He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.” John 6:65

No one comes to Jesus until God enables, draws them to Him. That means that God has some work to do on hearts before that heart is prepared and able to come. A Dr will induce ONLY in the proper time when that child can survive! Never would a DR, induce if the child could not survive, that would be an abortion, not a delivery!
Do not grumble, complain and fret over the TIME that it’s taking for God to prepare their hearts so He can enable them to survive when He DRAWS them to Jesus! He doesn’t speed things up to make things easier on us. No Dr. will induce labor before the chance of survival is guaranteed just because the mom is uncomfortable and suffering. IF that child won’t survive, no way is induction going to occur. God works the same way when it comes to our spouses soul and salvation. No way is He going to induce just because we are suffering and want the pain to stop. He will not move ahead if that means your spouse is not going to be open to being drawn and attracted to Jesus.

This is why the Saul to Paul conversion happened when it did. WE would have encountered Saul way before Christians died. But he was not ready to accept Jesus. Look at the first thing that Jesus stated to Saul when He met him.

“We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ Act 26:14

Jesus was stating a fact that Saul was at a time in his life when rebelling against God’s will was causing him the pain of kicking back in rebellion. THAT statement would not have been true prior to that day on that Damascus road. God had to wait for Saul to be tired of rebelling, tired of kicking against the pricks and be READY to say YES TO JESUS. Read more about this HERE

That is what God is waiting for. For your spouse to have tried things their own way. Tried and failed. Tried and grown weary. Tried over and over to live life according to their own choices and will, and seen that a life apart from God is not working and all they keep doing is getting pricked in their rebellion. As Jesus said “43:Stop grumbling. 44: No one comes to Me unless He that sent me draws them.”

Give God the TIME that is needed to turn the heart, will, mind, soul of a person that is set on living life their way. Let them see that it’s NOT working out like they had hoped. That is exactly what God is doing. You need to be still, be patient and let it happen! God has a plan. It’s called, let the reaping of what they are sowing do it’s job. Those that sow sin, reap destruction. Galatians 6:8
