He MAKES Me Stand!

When I came to the realization that I was powerless and was not going to be able to get my husband to change, a fear came that I had never experienced before. I had never had a problem that I had to admit that I could not fix. I never had to entrust something SO important fully into someone else’s hands and then step back and not demand they give me an account of how they were handling the job I entrusted them with. But then again, never had I encountered God in that way before. Where I was seeing Him as God for the first time, and not just a broom in a closet to take out when I needed a tool to help me clean up a mess.

No, God was finally getting to be Who He was all along as I became enlightened to the truth. He went from being a mystery to Someone very real, and fully capable of handling me and my spouse. But the fear was still there.  And knowing that the Word held all the answers I went looking for something to help me with that fear. My fear was from not being able to control the situation. From feeling weak, helpless and unequipped for the task ahead. So when the Lord gave me this scripture, I CLUNG to it and spoke it over my heart, mind, and soul day and night. 

I learned to study the deeper meaning of the words He “MAKES”, because the very fact that I felt God was going to cause me to do something I felt helpless to do for myself, gave me comfort. So I wanted proof that that was what I was really hearing in that scripture.

1869. darak-causative, cause to-upon mine heights he maketh me tread AND strongs said that this scripture was one that promised “giving security & triumph”

HE MAKES US ABLE TO DO WHAT WE CAN’T DO ON OUR OWN

 As I read this scripture I saw that God would make me able, through Him, be brave, strong, courageous to face all that was coming at me and not feel alone. That He will help me move and not shrink in fear. He would help me to make progress in those high places of suffering and troubles and all the while not feel alone, but that all of heaven was with me supporting and helping me! So yeah, THAT is why I clung deeply to this scripture and spoke it day and night over myself.

Another scripture I found also spoke of this kind of posture being caused by God. 

STAND Is 5975. amad  Definition: to take one’s stand, stand, be in a standing attitude: cause to stand firm

 Amad is found in these verses. 

ENDURE

If you do this and God so commands, you will be able to stand the strain, and all these people will go home satisfied.” Exodus 18:23 (able to endure the pressures, able to endure [the responsibility])

REVIVE, REBUILD, REPAIR

For we are slaves; yet in our bondage our God has not abandoned us, but has extended favor to us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us reviving to erect the house of our God, to restore its ruins, and to give us a wall in Judah and Jerusalem. Ezra 9:9

STAND STILL, WAIT

Numbers 9:8 And Moses said unto them, Stand still, and I will hear what the LORD will command concerning you.

I pray these scriptures will bless you as you study them out, speak them over your heart and mind. Speak them repeatedly and stand firm on the foundation of this truth. God is there to help you if you will allow Him. You have to come to the end of yourself first, so you can relent and allow Him to become through you, what you are incapable of attaining apart from Him. It’s not easy, but as you move forward, day by day, learning, and trusting, you WILL GROW!
