What is Standing for Marriage Restoration?
The Ministry of Reconciliation is commissioned to all those who become believers.
“And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to Himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:18
This reconciliation is especially needed for our spouses who are unsaved, backslid, and caught in deception. We vowed to love in sickness and in health and that includes spiritual sickness and decay. (Romans 8:21 see below)
Jesus is our example of being reconciled to those who are unfaithful and standing firm in hope for the lost to come to repentance.
As you stand for marriage restoration and seek Jesus as your example, you will come into the knowledge that His heart is for restoration. But it’s far greater than just marriage restoration. It’s about a true and right relationship that only comes through the refining that happens during suffering and tribulations. Jesus is after the heart and souls of His lost sheep and bringing them into an eternal relationship with Him.
If you have come to a place in your life where you have suddenly found yourself separated, divorced, or facing a divorce, and feel God is calling you to the impossible, we are here to help and give you hope!
God DOES restore marriages, but most importantly, He heals the reasons why the marriage was vulnerable in the first place.
Abandonment and infidelity do not have to end a marriage. In fact, your willingness to stand for the healing and restoration of your spouse and marriage can lead to the promise of a life and marriage far better than you dreamed.
“Have you not read,’ He replied, ‘that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.” Matthew 19:4-6 BSB
BUT man does separate: from God, Spouse, and even children.
“He said unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts allowed you to put away your wives: but from the beginning, it was not so.” Matthew 19:8 King James 2000
Spiritual adultery, separation, and abandonment happen within the spouse, usually, at the same time these occur in the marriage. To turn away from marriage involves a decision to turn away from God entirely, or in part, to His truths, this decision creates the hard heart.
“They are darkened in their understanding, being alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardness of their hearts.” Eph. 4:18 NET
How does that happen? At Marriage Revealed Ministries, we believe that some Christians can still be deeply troubled, lost, and wandering through life due to spiritual immaturity, wrong beliefs, or loss of adoption and identity. They are so frustrated at God, life, their spouse. They have deep regrets and insecurities that create restlessness and discontent. This is why you may hear “I have not been happy in a long time.” The only thing they can think of is the marriage, even YOU were the reason for this unhappiness. This is the opportunity the enemy needs and uses to set up the snare and temp your spouse away and into the trap of adultery. And why do they fall into it so willingly? Being willing to throw away everything? It wasn’t always a sex or lust issue, it was a discontent and restless heart. They are attempting a do-over. The same goes for the unbeliever. Since they never fully and sincerely connected with God, they still only know love on a human level. They don’t have an understanding of their identity and what it means to be loved by their Creator.
And it’s not just the lost spouse. Many Stander’s come to the same realization they have been living a lukewarm life. God was never first in their heart, nor has He had full reign over their mind and soul. This is what standing is about. Our maturity in our faith, eternity, salvation and our personal understanding, love, and relationship with God. And this is what is being done not only for you while standing, but you are interceding for your spouse to come to that place too. We know that is a lot to take in right now.

We can’t promise you marriage restoration. Only God can speak and reveal that to your heart. But we can promise if you are being called to stand for your marriage, we will stand with you.
We can promise if you chose to become better, over bitter, standing for your spouse will be a life-transforming process that forces the weak and timid to become fierce and mighty. It has the potential and promises to teach you WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST, to come into awareness of your identity, adoption, authority, and to experience the greatest love you will ever know.
A Promise of Restoration and Healing
For He has torn us, but He will heal us;
He has wounded us, but He will bandage us.
2 “After two days He will revive us;
On the third day He will raise us up
That we may live before Him.
3“So let us know and become personally acquainted with Him;
And He will come to us [in salvation] like the [heavy] rain,
Like the spring rain watering the earth.” Hosea 6:1-3 (AMP)
