Psalms 93:3 fits me perfectly some days, “The floods have risen up O Lord they have roared like thunder the floods have lifted their pounding waves.”
Do you feel like this? Like everything is flooding in on top of you? Crashing wave after wave? Maybe it’s fear or defeat thundering around you; waves of sadness or loneliness. It’s a never-ending flood. As I battle these floods, I can remember what the next verse says, “BUT Mightier than the violent raging seas, Mightier than the breakers on the shore- the Lord above is mightier than these!” Psalms 93:4.
He is mightier! Mightier than our fear that booms. Mightier than our defeat or sadness.
The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing. Zephaniah 3:17 ESV
Mightier than anything that crashes around us. He is above the raging seas. It may feel like you’re going to drown, hold on…God IS mightier! Let Him calm the raging waves and booming thunder inside you. Call out to our Mighty God.
“He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy,” Job 8:21.
As He stills the crashing inside you, shout for joy! Because our God is mightier than all the violent raging inside us. Thank you Jesus, you are mightier!
You formed the mountains by Your power,
having girded Yourself with might.
You stilled the roaring of the seas,
the pounding of their waves,
and the tumult of the nations.
Psalm 65:6-7
