During my stand, I had times when I was overwhelmed by the lies of many things. The lies of “what if” would bring me so much fear that I could not withstand against them. When I discovered this scripture in the amplified bible, I clung to it, so I could learn how to get my focus on what was causing me the lie and put my focus and attention on what could drive away the fear. Let me say that again, to overcome the lie and fear, you have to get your focus on something BIGGER, something that convinces you that it can take care of you.

I started out with no confidence in God, but over time, I grew in confidence in Him as I came to know Him more through experience. I came to understand that His love for me protected me, surrounded and guarded me, and that with Him for me, there truly was nothing that could hurt me because I would never be alone. He would not always stop things from happening, but He would ensure that He would always be there with me to go through them.

Take this scripture and be encouraged by it, line by line, word by word!

 

The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He MAKES my feet like hinds’ feet and will MAKE me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and MAKE[spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]! Habakkuk 3:19 AMPC

Father God,

I know you are not the source of fear, that is NOT how you want me to walk or what you want me to put my hope and trust in. You are my hope, my trust, my Source of help. Anything that causes me fear is out to steal, kill and destroy. Help me to embrace that as a lie, and to not allow myself to get carried away by lying spirits that are there to torment me.

Help me to remember that You have a way out. That Your Word is my answer. Your love is enough to drive out those lying spirits and fears that try to persuade me that You are not big enough. Help me with my unbelief. Help me stop giving my power over to the lies and fears. 

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6)

Help me always come to YOU FIRST and not wallow in my fears. Help me bind my mind to the mind of Christ, and not be led astray. I pray that I am able to always come with thanksgiving when I present my requests to You, to show You that I do see what You have done for me.

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

If there is anyplace in me that doesn’t believe that You care for me, help me overcome this belief and see the truth of Your promise, that You do care, every EVERYTHING.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Lord, You have commanded that I get a grip on my fears when they are out of control. You have asked that I stop allowing these fears to run wild and unchecked, out of control. That I have the courage and bravery to face them down, stand up to them, and not let them overpower me. Your Word says that no matter what I face, I am never alone, and that You are with me where ever I go and whatever I go through.

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34

Help me to not live my life in worry about the “what-ifs”. Let me not waste another worry over being anxious over things that may never happen. Show me that pride may be leading me to worry about being blindsided and made the fool, or being gullible and unprepared. Help me release those things I have no control over and see that worry is a thief that is stealing from me unless I put a stop to it.

 I thank You Lord, that You go before me, behind me, surround me. That You are always working all things out for my good, even when I don’t feel or believe it. You are faithful and trustworthy. Father forgive me for letting my fears become bigger. Help me to feel the love You have for me, believe in that love, the very thing that You have said is needed to drive out fear.

In Jesus, MIGHTY name, I pray.
