Wisdom must be guiding and protecting you above your feelings and emotions so you will be rooted firmly and not tossed about.
Children react due to their feelings until they learn how to handle things in a better way. If they don’t learn, they will be led and controlled by feelings into adulthood. As a Christian, we are to learn how to walk by faith, not by feelings. We also learn what it means to die to self. This means to put our feelings to death. Why? What is it about our feelings that are so damaging?
We are to live and walk in TRUTH!
Feelings and emotions are by-products of what we BELIEVE is truth! It does NOT MAKE it truth! The problem is MANY live by this rule, “it must be truth if you FEEL IT.”
When you encounter a lie and believe that it’s true, right away your feelings are going to go crazy. Those feelings are simply evidence that you believe the lie. NOT that the lie has any truth to it.
FEELINGS are nothing but a belief measuring stick.
Satan is out to erect strongholds in your life. He starts with a lie. He gets you to agree and believe it. Then he gets you to erect this stronghold with your own mouth by confessing and giving life to it. Acting upon it. Satan cannot erect this stronghold without YOUR AGREEMENT! Do you understand this? He has NO PERMISSION TO DO ANYTHING TO YOU UNLESS YOU AGREE. You are the one that signs the consent for the stronghold to be built and YOU are the one that must tear it down!
The way to tear and pull-down strongholds is by speaking truth, and not just any truth – God’s truth!
“Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him].” (Ephesians 4:27 AMPC)
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)
When a stronghold of lies is in place, speaking truth to yourself is going to be hard, because while you understand its truth, there won’t be a feeling to back it up. We KNOW God loves us, but most of us don’t FEEL or understand that love. Why? Because strongholds of unworthiness, shame, condemnation, and rejection are there and they speak louder and give off feelings that refute truth.
The Word of God is powerful to tear down those strongholds and dismantle the lies we have believed. We must choose to go against what we FEEL and do what we KNOW is right. Speaking the Word of God despite what we feel takes discipline and obedience. That is what will set us FREE. Most do not even realize they are enslaved in a lie.
“So He said to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32)
In conclusion, you must agree with the truth and speak it over yourself even though it doesn’t feel like it’s the truth until it accomplishes what it’s intended to do. You need to TEAR down the stronghold of lies and replace it with a new stronghold of truth within you. LEARN to meditate ON and repeat scripture!!! Keep declaring what the Word says about you, your spouse, your marriage, and your family, in JESUS MIGHTY NAME.
