One of the ways the enemy comes to bring hurt and confusion to a Stander is through the lie that God is blessing their spouse. He whispers, “Look at how your spouse is being blessed. They are prospering and happy. Everything is going great for them. New job, house, getting married and now they are expecting their first child together. God must not want to restore your marriage because if it were so, they would not be blessed!”

The reason satan can speak this powerful lie and get people to believe it, is that we truly don’t understand the difference between a BLESSING from God, a blessed life with the hand of God all over it, and the fake counterfeit ‘blessing’ that the world and its standard has made us believe.

A blessed and “happy” life the world wants us to embrace is what we also call the “American Dream.” Perfect marriage, cars, house, job. With lots of things that are FUN! Being financially secure, healthy, and content with living life your own way.

This is the snare and pit of the enemy. With a life like that, WHO needs God? Right?

While God does bless His children in many ways, it’s important to understand that God would NEVER bless in a way that leads someone AWAY from Him. Satan does that, he blesses as a way to distract, steal, kill and rob a person from God. We can’t always see or know if a ‘blessing’ is from God or the enemy. Often they look the same….but the fruit should always, always draw a person towards their loving Father, not keep them from Him.

One such example is a woman in the crowd, overcome with awe and wonder at Jesus, in her feelings and misguided truth, she cried out,

“Blessed is the womb that bore You, and blessed are the breasts that nursed You!” BUT He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the Word of God and observe it.” Luke 11:27-28

A TRUE BLESSING IS BEING GUARANTEED SALVATION!

God is your Father, you are His Child and you KNOW who you are and are firmly confident in where you are going for all eternity, no matter IF you are living the “American Dream” or not. THAT IS THE BLESSED LIFE! It’s knowing God intimately and having a real true relationship.

I see lots of people that are very successful. But, I won’t call them blessed unless I know they are truly living for God and doing His will. Money and success don’t impress me, and it should not impress upon your beliefs either!

HERE IS WHAT THE WORD OF GOD SAYS ABOUT A BLESSED PERSON.

Please study this so you understand the difference between a REAL GOD BLESSED life and a worldly, enemy snared, material, counterfeit love from people, blessed life. There is a HUGE DIFFERENCE!

Matthew 5:3-11 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

3 Blessed (happy, [to be envied, and spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, (REGARDLESS OF THEIR OUTWARD CONDITIONS) are the poor in spirit (the humble, who rate themselves insignificant), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!

4 Blessed and enviably happy [with a happiness produced by the experience of God’s favor and especially conditioned by the revelation of His matchless grace] are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted!

5 Blessed (happy, blithesome, joyous, spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, REGARDLESS OF THEIR OUTWARD CONDITIONS) are the meek (the mild, patient, long-suffering), for they shall inherit the earth!

6 Blessed and fortunate and happy and spiritually prosperous (in that state in which the born-again child of God enjoys His favor and salvation) are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God), for they shall be completely satisfied!

7 Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy!

8 Blessed (happy, enviably fortunate, and spiritually prosperous—possessing the happiness produced by the experience of God’s favor and especially conditioned by the revelation of His grace, regardless of their outward conditions) are the pure in heart, for they shall see God!

9 Blessed (enjoying enviable happiness, spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they shall be called the sons of God!

10 Blessed and happy and enviably fortunate and spiritually prosperous (in the state in which the born-again child of God enjoys and finds satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of his outward conditions) are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake (for being and doing right), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!

11 Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of your outward conditions) are you when people revile you and persecute you and say all kinds of evil things against you falsely on My account.

Falling for the lie that God is blessing your spouse by allowing them to be happy in their choices, will make you feel unloved, rejected, abandoned by the Lord, which can lead to you being hurt and angry with Him.  Don’t allow a lie to interfere with your personal relationship with Your Father!

Standing with You,

Psalm 73

1Truly God is good to Israel, to those whose hearts are pure.
2But as for me, I almost lost my footing. My feet were slipping, and I was almost gone.
3For I envied the proud when I saw them prosper despite their wickedness.
4They seem to live such painless lives; their bodies are so healthy and strong.
5They don’t have troubles like other people; they’re not plagued with problems like everyone else.
6They wear pride like a jeweled necklace and clothe themselves with cruelty.
7These fat cats have everything their hearts could ever wish for!
8They scoff and speak only evil; in their pride they seek to crush others.
9They boast against the very heavens, and their words strut throughout the earth.
10And so the people are dismayed and confused, drinking in all their words.
11“What does God know?” they ask. “Does the Most High even know what’s happening?”
12Look at these wicked people—enjoying a life of ease while their riches multiply.
13Did I keep my heart pure for nothing? Did I keep myself innocent for no reason?
14I get nothing but trouble all day long; every morning brings me pain.
15If I had really spoken this way to others,I would have been a traitor to your people.
16So I tried to understand why the wicked prosper. But what a difficult task it is!
17Then I went into your sanctuary, O God, and I finally understood the destiny of the wicked.
18Truly, you put them on a slippery path and send them sliding over the cliff to destruction.
19In an instant they are destroyed, completely swept away by terrors.
20When you arise, O Lord, you will laugh at their silly ideas as a person laughs at dreams in the morning.
21Then I realized that my heart was bitter, and I was all torn up inside.
22I was so foolish and ignorant—I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you.
23Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand.
24You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny.
25Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth.
26My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.
27Those who desert him will perish, for you destroy those who abandon you.
28But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign LORD my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.
